7 TRAIN SERVICE CHANGES OCT-NOV
There will be no 7 line subway service between the Times Square - 42nd Street and Queensboro Plaza stations on the following weekends:
October 29-31 - 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday
November 5-6 - 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Sunday
November 12-14- 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday
November 19-21, 2011 - 12:01 a.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Monday
Fare-free shuttle buses will operate between the Vernon-Jackson and Queensboro Plaza Stations while the diversions are in effect. More N and Q
line service between Queens and Manhattan will be provided on these weekends. We are also reminding our customers to ride the E line to

HURRICANE IRENE - PROTECT YOURSELF
Irene is going to hit New York City with very high winds and heavy rains Saturday night and all through Sunday.
It’s going to be a very dangerous storm, especially in low-lying areas of the city in which residents are required to evacuate.
MTA is currently holding a shut down. There will be 91 emergency shelters throughout the city. Remember to stay indoors, away from glass windows,
and if possible stay below the 10th floor. Flooding may occur.

stations from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2011 to 5 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011. A special fare-free shuttle bus
service will operate between the Vernon-Jackson and Queensboro Plaza Stations while the service diversion is in effect. A

1ST ANNUAL QUEENS REAL ESTATE CONFERENCE "FUTURE OF FLUSHING"
Flushing BID is co-hosting the First Annual Queens Real Estate Conference with Monroe College. The topic of discussion is the
Future of Downtown Flushing in 5 to 10 years. The meeting is scheduled on July 15 at the Sheraton. Everyone is welcomed to
come by. Lunch will be served.

PEDESTRIAN SAFETY WEEK IN FLUSHING
Flushing BID is celebrating Pedestrian Safety Week July 28 - July 1 with Council Member Peter Koo, and Assembly Member Grace Meng.
Volunteers have been distributing flags with the message to "Support Red, White and Blue by Following Red, Yellow and Green" to celebrate the fourth of July
and to encouraging pedestrians to observe traffic rules.
